• Metallurgical structure: fully austenitic and non-magnetic after solution annealing, with good ductility, weldability, and formability.
• Physical & mechanical properties (typical): density 7.93 g/cm³; tensile strength ≥ 520 MPa; yield strength ≥ 205 MPa; elongation ≥ 40%; maximum continuous service temperature ~870°C (intermittent up to 925°C).

• Advantages: excellent resistance to atmospheric corrosion, weak acids/alkalis, and oxidation; food-grade compliant (3-A, FDA); easy to weld (TIG/MIG) and fabricate; high impact toughness at low temperatures.
• Limitations: poor resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion (not recommended for seawater — use 316/316L instead); susceptible to intergranular corrosion if improperly heat-treated after welding (use 304L for critical welded systems).

• Clearly state the standard and grade (e.g., ASTM A312 TP304, GB/T 14975 06Cr19Ni10).
• Define OD, wall thickness, schedule, length, surface finish, and test requirements upfront.
• For chloride-rich environments, consider upgrading to 316L; for welded systems requiring resistance to intergranular corrosion, specify 304L (C ≤ 0.03%).
• Verify the supplier's capability to provide EN 10204 3.2 certificates and PMI reports for each batch, especially for high-value or critical projects.
